While our standard Vee-Wire® (wedge wire) screens are made up of 304 or 316 / 316L stainless steel, there are numerous other metal options available for architectural screens that help make the perfect product for you. Each metal has a unique purpose and advantage to it. All materials used are recyclable and some contain upwards of 75 percent recycled content.
Stainless Steel
- 304SS and 316L grades of stainless steel are strong, ductile and weldable. 304 is typically used for interior applications while 316 / 316L is recommended for exterior purposes and is more corrosion resistant.
Carbon Steel / Mild Steel
- This strong, ductile and weldable material can be plated, powder coated or wet painted and is recommended for indoor applications and some exterior applications.
Copper-Nickel Alloys
- Z-Alloy, our proprietary material, is strong, ductile and weldable, and has a beautiful, bright copper color in its finished state. This material can be used both indoors and outdoors.
Duplex Stainless Steel
- This material is almost twice as strong as regular stainless steel, allowing less material to accomplish more. Duplex 2205 is ductile and weldable, and available in brushed, bead- blasted and chemically color-treated. This material has a higher price point than 304 or 316 and is normally used in uniquely corrosive environments.
